Women in Film & Television Houston & the Houston Film Commission announce the recipient of the inaugural Houston Filmmaker Grant, a $30,000 matching grant awarded to producers Theta Catalon and Amir Valinia for the feature film Flashes.

“Academic Affairs” went on to be NOMINATED for Best Domestic Short at the 7th Annual 2009 Queens International Film Festival in New York.

“Flashes” won Best Sound Design and went on to be NOMINATED for Best Drama, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor at the 10th Annual 2014 Action on Film Festival.
