New Sci-fi movie screens in Houston

HOUSTON – It’s been eight months in the making, but now the movie “Flashes” has opened to a Houston audience, the same city where it was made.
Director Amir Valinia has done small budget projects for the ScyFy channel and Showtime, but says he’s always dreamed of shooting a full-length feature film in his hometown.
“Houston has some really great backdrops I’ve always wanted to use,” said Valinia. “We shot Houston in a way I don’t think any features, in a way, has shot Houston.”
